Principal's Message

Greetings Northview families:

Northview High School is a wonderful place for students to flourish and I am honored to be your principal. My name is Julie Harrison, and I have been with the Covina-Valley School District for over ten years. Prior to my principalship at Northview, I was a middle school teacher, high school teacher, ASB director, and assistant principal for South Hills High School. Your child’s learning is my number one priority. Northview is committed to our tenets which we refer to as our TLC's: Technology, Life and Career Skills, Critical Thinking, Communication and Citizenship.

Thanks to your partnership, Northview students are excelling academically and socially. We have several new elective classes, clubs, and activities planned for next year. We are expanding our offerings for AVID and have added sections to support our FAME academy. Our focus remains creating a college going culture and ensuring that students have access and support to complete all of their college pre-requisites (a-g courses). Our A-G rate as of June 2015 was 55%. This has been a remarkable growth area for Northview. Just 5 short year's ago, our A-G rate was only 37%. We have every intention of continuing the updward trend.

Northview is a special place where students thrive and I am excited to be able to work with such an amazing team of teachers, staff and students. It is with great pride that I will serve the Viking family in this new capacity. On behalf of the entire staff, as we continue our journey in finding "Success for All", I wish you and your children another successful school year!
